R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Dennis Wells of Weslaco has won the 2000 Fujifilm
 1-2     Masterpiece Award for photographic excellence in the category of
 1-3     electronic imaging for his photo Iguana Territory, and this
 1-4     prestigious accolade is indeed well-deserved; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The owner of Dennis Wells Photography, this native
 1-6     Texan is a graduate of Weslaco High School, where he first
 1-7     developed a fascination with taking pictures and darkroom
 1-8     developing work; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, During a tour of duty as a member of the U.S. Air
1-10     Force, Mr. Wells served his nation and further enhanced his
1-11     knowledge of the photographic process as a camera repairman for
1-12     four years; he later went on to earn a master's degree in
1-13     photography and begin his professional career as a portrait
1-14     photographer; and
1-15           WHEREAS, His efforts have been honored numerous times by the
1-16     Professional Photographers of America, and his photo Femme Avec de
1-17     Fleurs was chosen for display at Epcot Center in 1998; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The exemplary work of Dennis Wells is a testament to
1-19     his creativity and technical expertise, and it is truly appropriate
1-20     that he be recognized in light of his receipt of this great honor;
1-21     now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby congratulate Dennis Wells on winning the 2000
1-24     Fujifilm Masterpiece Award and extend to him sincere best wishes
 2-1     for continued success; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Mr. Wells as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 2-4     House of Representatives.
