No. 24 77R1042 MMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Elena Hernandez of Alpine on January 1-2 6, 2000, at the age of 64, brought great sorrow to the family and 1-3 friends of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born on March 14, 1935, Mrs. Hernandez was a 1-5 lifelong resident of Alpine, where she raised a large and lively 1-6 family; a proud and devoted mother, she nurtured and sustained her 1-7 children with loving care, insight, and wisdom; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hernandez was a valued member and faithful 1-9 congregant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church; and 1-10 WHEREAS, This warm and gracious woman enriched the lives of 1-11 many, and her spirit lives on in the grateful hearts of those she 1-12 touched; now, therefore, be it 1-13 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-14 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Elena Hernandez and extend 1-15 sincere sympathy to her loved ones: to her husband, Ben Campos; to 1-16 her children, Salvador Hernandez, Jr., Danny Hernandez, Sr., George 1-17 Hernandez, Lalo Hernandez, Sr., John Hernandez, Debbie Newberry, 1-18 Dena Portillo, Ruth Portillo, Bridget Oliphant, Yolanda Hernandez, 1-19 and Cynthia Estrada; to her sisters, Mary Robledo, Pilar Canas, 1-20 JoAnn Hulem, Ida Rodriguez, and Isabel Langford; to her brothers, 1-21 Albert Ramos, Herminio B. Ramos, Jr., and Ernesto Ramos; and to the 1-22 many other relatives and friends who cherish her memory; and, be it 1-23 further 1-24 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-1 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-2 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-3 Elena Hernandez.
