R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Olivia Cordero on October 19, 1999, 1-2 at the age of 62, has brought a great loss to the family and many 1-3 friends of this esteemed Texan and to the Fort Stockton community 1-4 of which she was such a vital part; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Born on June 16, 1937, Mrs. Cordero was a beloved 1-6 wife, mother, and homemaker who made her family and her Catholic 1-7 faith central to her life; she and her husband, Dr. Patrick 1-8 Cordero, were blessed with four children, Patrick, Jr., Michele, 1-9 Brenda, and Yvonne, and the joy and laughter that filled the 1-10 Cordero home will warm their memories for years to come; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Cordero was a woman of rare faith and 1-12 commitment, and though her guidance and devotion are deeply missed 1-13 by all who knew her, her spirit surely lives on in the hearts and 1-14 memories of the many people whose lives she touched; now, 1-15 therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-17 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Olivia Cordero and 1-18 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 1-19 husband, Dr. Patrick Cordero; to her son, Patrick Cordero, Jr.; to 1-20 her daughters, Dr. Michele Cordero Turner, Brenda Cordero, and 1-21 Yvonne "Bonnye" Cordero; to her brothers, Juan Castelo, Mike 1-22 Castelo, and Henry Castelo; to her sisters, Lila Acosta, Fina 1-23 Grado, Juanita Salmon, Elisa Esparaza, Lupe Urias, and Rita Garza; 1-24 and to her grandson, Ryan DiFebo; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-4 Olivia Cordero.
