R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State
1-2 of Texas, That the permanent rules of the House of Representatives
1-3 for the 77th Legislature be amended as follows:
1-4 (1) Rule 6, Section 1, is amended by adding Subsection (c)
1-5 to read as follows:
1-6 (c) It is not in order for the house to be in session on a
1-7 Sunday.
1-8 (2) Rule 8, Section 13, Subsections (c)-(e), are amended to
1-9 read as follows:
1-10 (c) No senate bill or joint resolution shall be considered
1-11 on its second reading after the 133rd [134th] day of a regular
1-12 session if it appears on a daily or supplemental daily house
1-13 calendar, or for any purpose after the 134th [135th] day of a
1-14 regular session, except to:
1-15 (1) adopt a conference committee report;
1-16 (2) reconsider the bill or resolution to remove house
1-17 amendments;
1-18 (3) reconsider the bill or resolution to make
1-19 corrections; or
1-20 (4) pass the bill notwithstanding the objections of
1-21 the governor.
1-22 (d) The speaker shall not lay any bill or joint resolution
1-23 before the house or permit a vote to be taken on its passage on the
1-24 135th [136th] and 136th [137th] days of a regular session, except
2-1 to:
2-2 (1) act on senate amendments;
2-3 (2) adopt a conference committee report;
2-4 (3) reconsider the bill or resolution to remove house
2-5 amendments;
2-6 (4) reconsider the bill or resolution to make
2-7 corrections; or
2-8 (5) pass the bill notwithstanding the objections of
2-9 the governor.
2-10 (e) The speaker shall not lay any bill or joint resolution
2-11 before the house or permit a vote to be taken on its passage on the
2-12 137th [138th] and 138th [139th] days of a regular session, except
2-13 to:
2-14 (1) adopt a conference committee report;
2-15 (2) reconsider the bill or resolution to remove house
2-16 amendments;
2-17 (3) discharge house conferees and concur in senate
2-18 amendments;
2-19 (4) reconsider the bill or resolution to make
2-20 corrections; or
2-21 (5) pass the bill notwithstanding the objections of
2-22 the governor.
