                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The dedication celebration of the Southlake Town
 1-2     Hall on March 24, 2001, is a most outstanding event that indeed
 1-3     merits special legislative recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Located in the heart of Southlake Town Square, this
 1-5     impressive new facility was created to serve as a center for city
 1-6     and county government; held in conjunction with the City Fair, the
 1-7     dedication ceremony provides area residents an opportunity to enjoy
 1-8     the new town hall while partaking in a number of exciting
 1-9     activities, such as ceremonial tree plantings, Town Hall tours,
1-10     live entertainment, and the Southlake Town Square Second Birthday
1-11     Street Festival; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The Southlake Town Hall, which officially opened to
1-13     the public on December 27, 2000, is home to the city's
1-14     administration, finance, municipal court, utility billing,
1-15     planning, economic development, and public works offices, as well
1-16     as a public safety substation; the city's first public library; and
1-17     the Tarrant County commissioner's office, constable, justice of the
1-18     peace, county clerk, and tax office; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Designed by noted architect David Schwarz, who also
1-20     designed The Ballpark at Arlington, and with construction
1-21     management by The Beck Company, the town hall was brought to
1-22     fruition by the collaborative efforts and funding participation of
1-23     many organizations, including the City of Southlake, the Carroll
1-24     ISD, Tarrant County, the Tarrant County Hospital District, and the
 2-1     Tarrant County College District; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, The dedication of the Southlake Town Hall is truly a
 2-3     noteworthy occasion, and this impressive new facility will
 2-4     undoubtedly serve as a great source of pride to all the residents
 2-5     of the Southlake community for many years to come; now, therefore,
 2-6     be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-8     Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the Southlake Town
 2-9     Hall and extend to all those associated with this celebration
2-10     sincere best wishes for an enjoyable event.
