R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great 1-2 pleasure in commending Corey St. Lawrence for receiving the 1-3 prestigious Eagle Scout award; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Showing dedication and great skill, Mr. St. Lawrence 1-5 garnered the Arrow of Light award in 1995 and the God and Country 1-6 Award in 1999; he also earned membership into the Order of the 1-7 Arrow and the Venture Scouts; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This fine young Texan fulfilled his obligations 1-9 while acquiring the requisite merit badges, and he brought honor 1-10 and integrity to the posts of patrol leader and assistant patrol 1-11 leader; moreover, Mr. St. Lawrence successfully completed his 1-12 Eagle Scout Project, which involved working to improve the site 1-13 and facilities of the SPCA; and 1-14 WHEREAS, An honor student at Cypress Creek High School and 1-15 varsity swimmer and water polo player, Mr. St. Lawrence represents 1-16 the high standards of the Boy Scouts throughout his community; he 1-17 is also a member of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, UM Army, 1-18 and the Prestonwood Forest Swim Team; and 1-19 WHEREAS, The elite rank of Eagle Scout is attained by only a 1-20 handful of young men, and this accomplishment is indeed worthy of 1-21 highest praise; through outstanding effort and commitment, 1-22 Mr. St. Lawrence has proven himself to be an exemplary leader, and 1-23 it is a privilege to recognize him at this time; now, therefore, be 1-24 it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby commend Corey St. Lawrence on receiving the 2-3 Eagle Scout award and extend to him sincere best wishes for 2-4 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for Mr. St. Lawrence as an expression of high regard by 2-7 the Texas House of Representatives.
