R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The retirement of Comal County tax
 1-2     assessor-collector Gloria Clennan brings to a close an outstanding
 1-3     record of public service in behalf of the citizens of the State of
 1-4     Texas; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Appointed on December 1, 1975, to fill the last year
 1-6     of her predecessor's term, this highly respected woman, a Democrat
 1-7     in a strong Republican county, ran unopposed for reelection for all
 1-8     but one of her six four-year terms; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mrs. Clennan's leadership style has successfully
1-10     melded efficiency with courtesy; she capably fulfilled the myriad
1-11     duties of her office while considering the people she served as
1-12     newfound friends; and
1-13           WHEREAS, For a quarter century, Gloria Clennan has made
1-14     significant contributions to the Comal County tax department, and
1-15     during her years of service to the Lone Star State she has acted
1-16     with integrity and dedication; at this time, it is a privilege to
1-17     join her family, friends, and colleagues in recognizing her many
1-18     accomplishments as she begins her well-deserved retirement; now,
1-19     therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby commend Gloria Clennan for her exemplary tenure
1-22     with the Comal County tax department and extend to her sincere best
1-23     wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for Mrs. Clennan as an expression of high regard by the
 2-2     Texas House of Representatives.
