No. 95 77R4809 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Caldwell High School Lady Hornets volleyball 1-2 team won the 2000 UIL Class 3A state volleyball championship, and 1-3 this stellar athletic accomplishment indeed merits special 1-4 legislative recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Skillfully led by head coach Caroline Simpson and 1-6 assistant coaches Wendy Weiss and Scott Stapp, the talented Lady 1-7 Hornets came back from a 10-4 deficit in the title game's opening 1-8 match, exemplifying their team motto of "Don't doubt yourself," and 1-9 earning their second state title in three years; and 1-10 WHEREAS, This impressive victory would not have been possible 1-11 without the contributions of all the talented team members, 1-12 including Lindsey Miller, Lani Jurena, Ashlee Ofczarzak, Cathy 1-13 Rogers, Jessica Armstrong, Shana Snider, Andrea Wilde, Krista 1-14 Muzny, and Beth Karasek; the team also received invaluable support 1-15 from managers Lindi Jurena and Vicki Morehead; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The young champions of Caldwell High School 1-17 distinguished themselves as formidable competitors during their 1-18 triumphant 2000 season; their state championship is an apt 1-19 reflection of their hard work and determination, and it is a 1-20 privilege to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby congratulate the Caldwell High School Lady 1-23 Hornets volleyball team on their UIL Class 3A state championship 1-24 and extend to them best wishes for continued success; and, be it 2-1 further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for the Lady Hornets as an expression of high regard by 2-4 the Texas House of Representatives.
