R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Honorable Maggie Marie "Pat" Rosebud, Surfside
 1-2     Beach municipal court judge, is most deserving of special
 1-3     recognition for her exemplary work in Brazoria County; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Judge Rosebud is a leader in her community who has
 1-5     made significant contributions to many worthy organizations,
 1-6     including the March of Dimes, Brazoria County Children with
 1-7     Handicaps, Brazoria County Youth Home, Houston Livestock Show and
 1-8     Rodeo Scholarship Fund, Brazoria County Fair Association, and local
 1-9     fire departments; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Her myriad accomplishments include serving as the
1-11     first woman president of the Texas Automobile Association and vice
1-12     president of the Brazoria County Fair Association, as well as being
1-13     an ambassador for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member
1-14     of the Freeport Beautification Committee; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In addition, Judge Rosebud was named the Citizen of
1-16     the Year by the Surfside Beach Business Men's Association in 1993
1-17     and earned a similar distinction from the Brazosport Area Chamber
1-18     of Commerce in 1980 for her many good works and deeds and extensive
1-19     involvement in civic, professional, and philanthropic
1-20     organizations; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Judge Rosebud has enjoyed the
1-22     support and strength of her loving husband, George, and their
1-23     daughter, Lynn; the couple's enduring union has also been blessed
1-24     with a grandson, Joe, and a great-granddaughter, Morgan; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Judge Rosebud has touched the lives of countless
 2-2     people since coming to Brazoria County in 1963; her impressive
 2-3     record of service speaks volumes about the positive impact she has
 2-4     had on the Brazoria County community, and it is truly a privilege
 2-5     to pay tribute to this estimable woman at this time; now,
 2-6     therefore, be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-8     Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Maggie Marie "Pat" Rosebud
 2-9     for her hard work and dedication in behalf of her fellow Texans,
2-10     and that she be extended sincere best wishes for continued success
2-11     and good fortune; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13     prepared for Judge Rosebud as an expression of high regard by the
2-14     Texas House of Representatives.
