                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Honorable H. Ron White of Dallas has been named
 1-2     the recipient of the 2001 Martin Luther King, Jr., Justice Award,
 1-3     and he is truly deserving of special recognition in light of this
 1-4     prestigious honor; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Dallas Bar Association, the award
 1-6     recognizes Mr. White's deep commitment to equal justice and
 1-7     economic opportunity for all citizens; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, He is the managing partner of White Sims & Wiggins
 1-9     L.L.P., one of the largest ethnic-owned law firms in North Texas;
1-10     the firm serves as outside counsel to major corporations,
1-11     governmental entities, and privately-held companies in matters of
1-12     state and federal civil litigation, labor and employment, personal
1-13     injury, products liability, mediation, real estate, and business
1-14     transactions; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Before joining White Sims & Wiggins L.L.P.,
1-16     Mr. White was corporate counsel with Atlantic-Richfield for six
1-17     years; he was appointed a state district judge by Governor Mark
1-18     White in 1983, and over the course of his legal career he has
1-19     accrued more than 20 years of litigation and business experience as
1-20     well as 10 years as a mediator; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Active in numerous professional and community
1-22     organizations, Mr. White currently serves as regional vice
1-23     president of the National Minority Supplier Development Council,
1-24     director of The North Texas Commission, and chairman of the Dallas
 2-1     Chamber African-Caribbean Committee; he also is a director of the
 2-2     DFW General Counsel's Management Practices Forum and the Methodist
 2-3     Medical Center and serves on the South Central Minority Business
 2-4     Enterprise Input Committee; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, H. Ron White has enhanced the quality of life for
 2-6     Texans in countless ways, and his outstanding contributions are a
 2-7     source of inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Honorable H. Ron White be congratulated on
 2-9     receiving the 2001 Martin Luther King, Jr., Justice Award and that
2-10     he be extended best wishes for continued success and happiness.
