                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Lisa Minton has been named the 1999-2000 Waxahachie
 1-2     Independent School District Teacher of the Year for Northside
 1-3     Elementary School, and in light of this accomplishment she is
 1-4     indeed deserving of special praise; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, After graduating from Berkner High School in
 1-6     Richardson, Texas, Ms. Minton attended Abilene Christian University
 1-7     and East Texas State University, earning a bachelor of science
 1-8     degree in education; a dedicated wife and mother, she took a
 1-9     10-year break in her teaching career to focus on the education of
1-10     her three cherished daughters; and
1-11           WHEREAS, This esteemed individual has taught a broad range of
1-12     students and courses, including first through 12th grades, special
1-13     education, and ESL classes; and
1-14           WHEREAS, A dedicated educator, Ms. Minton has worked to
1-15     inspire the creativity and natural curiosity within each of her
1-16     students; by encouraging these youngsters to study and learn, she
1-17     is helping to build a bright future for the next generation of
1-18     leaders; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Endeavoring to equip young Texans with the skills
1-20     and knowledge necessary for future success is a truly commendable
1-21     undertaking; during her six years as a public school teacher, Lisa
1-22     Minton has earned a special place in the hearts of many of her
1-23     students and the respect and admiration of her colleagues and
1-24     friends, and she truly merits legislative recognition for her most
 2-1     recent achievement; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby congratulate Lisa Minton on being named the
 2-4     1999-2000 Waxahachie ISD Teacher of the Year for Northside
 2-5     Elementary School and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 2-6     continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for Ms. Minton as an expression of high regard by the
 2-9     Texas House of Representatives.
