R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Lesli Priebe has received a 1999-2000 Waxahachie ISD
 1-2     Teacher of the Year award, and this significant achievement is most
 1-3     deserving of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A graduate of South Garland High School, Ms. Priebe
 1-5     received a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at
 1-6     Arlington, where she was on an athletic scholarship and played for
 1-7     the Lady Mavericks basketball team; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, In addition to her teaching responsibilities, this
 1-9     outstanding educator has coached the Waxahachie High School girls
1-10     basketball team for the past five years; moreover, she has taught
1-11     and coached at Cleburne High School, Italy High School, and North
1-12     Garland High School; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Whether it be in the classroom or on the basketball
1-14     court, Ms. Priebe has established herself as a leader and role
1-15     model for her students, players, and fellow faculty members; using
1-16     her knowledge, wisdom, and experience, she has helped create a
1-17     positive environment that is conducive to learning; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of the
1-19     young people of our state is an undertaking of paramount
1-20     importance, and it is indeed appropriate to pay tribute to those
1-21     estimable public servants who strive to accomplish this important
1-22     goal; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby commend Lesli Priebe for being selected as
 2-1     Waxahachie ISD 1999-2000 Teacher of the Year for Waxahachie High
 2-2     School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued good
 2-3     fortune and happiness; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Ms. Priebe as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
