R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Tami Eason has been selected as a 1999-2000 Teacher
 1-2     of the Year in the Waxahachie Independent School District and this
 1-3     honor is indeed deserving of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, At the time she received this award, Mrs. Eason was
 1-5     serving as a reading teacher, head of the department of special
 1-6     education, and faculty-volunteer coordinator at Turner Middle
 1-7     School; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Teachers of the Year are voted on by the staff at
 1-9     each campus; in making their choice, Mrs. Eason's colleagues were
1-10     deeply impressed by her creation of a positive learning
1-11     environment, creative teaching strategies, ability to engage
1-12     students with different learning styles, and skillful control of
1-13     the classroom; and
1-14           WHEREAS, These colleagues also appreciated the responsible
1-15     and cooperative spirit that Mrs. Eason brought to her collaboration
1-16     with associates, parents, and members of the community, an attitude
1-17     that fosters trust and respect and benefits both her students and
1-18     the school as a whole; and
1-19           WHEREAS, A graduate of Huntsville High School and of Sam
1-20     Houston State University, this gifted instructor is currently
1-21     pursuing a master's degree in counseling at Texas A&M
1-22     University--Commerce; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious
1-24     resource, and a quality education is vital for our young people to
 2-1     achieve their full potential; Tami Eason's contributions as an
 2-2     educator have been of inestimable value, and she is truly deserving
 2-3     of commendation for her diligence and commitment to excellence in
 2-4     this demanding profession; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby congratulate Tami Eason on her selection as
 2-7     Waxahachie ISD 1999-2000 Teacher of the Year at Turner Middle
 2-8     School and extend to her sincere best wishes for happiness and
 2-9     success in her future endeavors; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for Mrs. Eason as an expression of high regard by the
2-12     Texas House of Representatives.
