R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Tommie Worthy of Waxahachie is retiring from her 1-2 position as a personal banker with Comerica Bank, and it is indeed 1-3 a privilege to honor this esteemed woman for her many years of hard 1-4 work and dedication; and 1-5 WHEREAS, This exceptional Texan began her career with 1-6 Comerica Bank in October 1973 as a teller; during the ensuing 27 1-7 years, she served with the utmost integrity and demonstrated a 1-8 commitment to duty that earned her the respect, admiration, and 1-9 gratitude of countless Waxahachie and Ellis County residents; and 1-10 WHEREAS, In addition to being an outstanding banking 1-11 professional, Mrs. Worthy has been a devoted civic leader involved 1-12 with many noteworthy organizations, including the YMCA, the 1-13 Salvation Army, the Waxahachie Lions Club, United Way of Ellis 1-14 County, the Waxahachie Senior Citizens, the Ellis County Woman's 1-15 Building, the Ellis County Extension Board, the American Heart 1-16 Association of West Ellis County, and the Business Women's Luncheon 1-17 Club; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A valued member of First Baptist Church of Avalon, 1-19 Mrs. Worthy is widely recognized as an asset to her community and 1-20 the Lone Star State, a fact clearly evidenced by the Ellis County 1-21 Commissioners Court proclaiming January 19, 2001, as "Tommie Worthy 1-22 Day"; her retirement will undoubtedly afford her more opportunities 1-23 to spend time with her beloved husband, Sterling Worthy, and her 1-24 cherished children and grandchildren; and 2-1 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, be they civic or professional, 2-2 this estimable woman has worked to the great benefit of so many, 2-3 and it is truly appropriate to pay tribute to her as she retires 2-4 from a distinguished 27-year tenure with Comerica Bank; now, 2-5 therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby honor Tommie Worthy on the occasion of her 2-8 retirement from Comerica Bank and extend to her sincere best wishes 2-9 for continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mrs. Worthy as an expression of high regard by the 2-12 Texas House of Representatives.
