No. 135 77R4728 MJS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Isaiah Moreland, Jr., has received a 1999-2000 1-2 Waxahachie ISD Teacher of the Year award, and this noteworthy 1-3 distinction truly merits special praise; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The accolade recognizes teachers who strive for 1-5 excellence and achievement in the classroom while continuing to 1-6 meet the demanding needs of each of their students; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Born in Mount Enterprise, Texas, Mr. Moreland 1-8 attended Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas and earned a 1-9 bachelor's degree at East Texas State University in 1973; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He began his educational career at Wilemon Junior 1-11 High School before taking a position at the high school level; 1-12 today, he is a valued and vital member of the Waxahachie Learning 1-13 Center faculty and also frequently teaches summer school; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. Moreland has played an integral role in helping 1-15 to create an enriching and rewarding learning environment that is 1-16 preparing many young Texans to meet the challenges and 1-17 opportunities that lie ahead; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Throughout his outstanding tenure, he has been a 1-19 devoted educator and role model for his students and fellow faculty 1-20 members; with his diligence, commitment, and leadership, 1-21 Mr. Moreland has proven himself most deserving of this significant 1-22 honor; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby commend Isaiah Moreland, Jr., on being named 2-1 1999-2000 Waxahachie ISD Teacher of the Year at the Waxahachie 2-2 Learning Center and extend to him sincere best wishes for success 2-3 and happiness in his future endeavors; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for Mr. Moreland as an expression of high regard by the 2-6 Texas House of Representatives.
