R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Wilma Hill of Arlington has been selected as an 1-2 honoree for the Texas Excellence Awards Program for Outstanding 1-3 Teachers by The University of Texas at Austin, and this significant 1-4 accomplishment is truly worthy of special recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The university's College of Education and the 1-6 Ex-Student's Association undertake the challenging task of choosing 1-7 the honorees from a large group of extremely talented teachers; 1-8 these exceptional educators are then invited to attend the 2001 1-9 Conference on Education on the UT campus, where they will receive a 1-10 cash award and a specially commissioned bronze sculpture; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Widely recognized as an exemplary instructor at 1-12 Lamar High School in Arlington, Ms. Hill has earned much praise for 1-13 her dedication to her students, and her enthusiasm for learning is 1-14 evidenced by her creative curriculum and invigorating classroom 1-15 environment; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Working to challenge the minds of our future leaders 1-17 is truly a commendable endeavor, and it is a privilege to join the 1-18 UT staff and alumni in recognizing Ms. Hill for her years of hard 1-19 work and dedication; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate Wilma Hill on receiving her recent 1-22 honor from the Texas Excellence Awards Program for Outstanding 1-23 Teachers and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued 1-24 success and happiness; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Ms. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives.
