R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great
 1-2     pleasure in congratulating Katie Leonard of Burkburnett on her
 1-3     selection to the UIL Class 4A All-State Cross Country Team; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, This talented young Texan is a standout on the Lady
 1-5     Bulldogs cross country team at Burkburnett High School, where she
 1-6     is a junior; she has twice recorded top-10 finishes at the UIL
 1-7     State Cross Country Meet, including coming in fourth in 2000 after
 1-8     covering the 2.1 mile course in a stellar time of 11:44; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The daughter of Greg and Debbie Leonard, this
1-10     dynamic young Texan also excels at her high school as a member of
1-11     the Lady Bulldogs basketball team and as a distance runner on the
1-12     varsity track team; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Selected to the All-State team by the Texas Girls
1-14     Coaches Association, Katie Leonard has distinguished herself as a
1-15     gifted and dedicated athlete, and it is most appropriate that she
1-16     be commended for her recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby congratulate Katie Leonard on being chosen to
1-19     the UIL Class 4A All-State Cross Country Team and extend to her
1-20     sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for Ms. Leonard as an expression of high regard by the
1-23     Texas House of Representatives.
