                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Founded in 1901, the Mesquite Independent School
 1-2     District is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and this
 1-3     notable occurrence is indeed worthy of special legislative
 1-4     recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Taking great pride in a rich tradition of academic
 1-6     achievement and success in the classroom, the board members and
 1-7     staff have helped teachers create a learning environment that will
 1-8     enrich the lives of Mesquite students for years to come; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The Mesquite ISD is preparing the young people of
1-10     our state to be the leaders of tomorrow; it maintains close ties
1-11     with parents and the community and strives to ensure that its
1-12     students acquire a strong foundation of knowledge and develop
1-13     critical problem-solving skills; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Providing young Texans with an excellent education
1-15     is crucial to our state's continued prosperity; the Mesquite ISD is
1-16     playing an integral role in this significant undertaking and it is
1-17     indeed a privilege to pay tribute to this outstanding school
1-18     district at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby congratulate the Mesquite Independent School
1-21     District on its centennial and extend to all those associated with
1-22     the district sincere best wishes for success and happiness in their
1-23     future endeavors.
