R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many fans of Jesse Trevino Arreola of
 1-2     Uvalde were deeply saddened by the untimely passing of this
 1-3     talented and beloved musician on February 4, 2001, at the age of
 1-4     31; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Born on April 11, 1969, Mr. Arreola was one of four
 1-6     brothers who formed the acclaimed Tejano band Los Palominos; making
 1-7     music with his brothers from a young age, this gifted drummer
 1-8     excelled under the tutelage of his father, a former conjunto
 1-9     musician; and
1-10           WHEREAS, By 1986, Mr. Arreola and his brothers performed
1-11     regularly as the group Los Tremendos Pequenos, which later became
1-12     the famed Los Palominos; credited with bringing a younger audience
1-13     to Tejano music, the group went gold in 1994 with Corazon de
1-14     Cristal, and more recently released the album Obsession, which
1-15     included the hit single "Te Quiero Mas"; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. Arreola and Los Palominos recently won Best
1-17     Tejano Performance at the Grammy Awards and the Latin Grammy Awards
1-18     for the song "Por Eso Te Amo"; last year they earned Comeback Album
1-19     of the Year at the 20th Annual Tejano Music Awards, and on March
1-20     28, 2000, they were honored by their hometown of Uvalde when the
1-21     chamber of commerce gave the group a key to the city and declared
1-22     it Los Palominos Day; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Known for his endearing sense of humor and kindness
1-24     toward others, Mr. Arreola will live on forever in the music he
 2-1     made and in all the hearts of the people he so deeply touched; now,
 2-2     therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-4     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jesse Trevino Arreola
 2-5     and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his
 2-6     wife, Juanita L. Arreola; to his parents, Juan and Alicia Arreola;
 2-7     to his sisters, Sandra Myrick and Rosa Maria Arreola; to his
 2-8     brothers, Johnny, George, Julio, Jimmy, Joe, and James Arreola; and
 2-9     to his other relatives, many friends, and fans; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
2-12     Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jesse
2-13     Trevino Arreola.
