                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, School board members play an integral role in the
 1-2     important mission of educating the young people of our state, and
 1-3     these admirable community leaders are indeed worthy of special
 1-4     legislative recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Working in conjunction with parents and educators,
 1-6     school board members diligently strive to create an environment
 1-7     that is conducive to learning and meets the demanding needs of
 1-8     every student; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The efforts of these dedicated individuals have led
1-10     to January of each year being designated School Board Recognition
1-11     Month, and it is most fitting that we honor those who give so much
1-12     of their time and energies to the great work of public education;
1-13     and
1-14           WHEREAS, State House District 36 is fortunate in having many
1-15     men and women who are committed to preparing our schoolchildren to
1-16     face the myriad challenges and opportunities of the future; and
1-17           WHEREAS, These outstanding school board members include, from
1-18     the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District, Aaron Gonzalez,
1-19     Esperanza Salinas, Ruben Rodriguez, Fidencio Garcia, Felix Garza,
1-20     Jr., Leonel Lozano, and Michael Ozuna; from the Edinburg
1-21     Consolidated Independent School District, Rodolfo Ramirez, Noe
1-22     Garza, Jaime Moralez, Jaime Chavana, Gilbert Enriquez, Fred Guerra,
1-23     and Xavier Salinas; from the Harlingen Consolidated Independent
1-24     School District, Omar Cano, Allan Brumley, Bob Dunkin, George
 2-1     McShan, Lee Means, and Bill Pietro; from the La Feria Independent
 2-2     School District, Alan Moore, Gloria Casa, Francisco Cobarrubias,
 2-3     John Callaway, Lalo Sosa, Jaime Vazquez, and Joel Villalon; from
 2-4     the La Joya Independent School District, Carmen Ramirez, Elma
 2-5     Garza, Amancio J. Chapa, Jr., Ruben E. Farias, Arturo Gonzalez,

2-21     Garza, Rolando Alfaro, Lina R. Arredondo, Hoss Lozano, and Thomas
2-22     E. Wiesman; from the Santa Rosa Independent School District, Maria
2-23     R. Bowman, Juan Manuel Perez, Robert Gutierrez, Hector Lumbrera,
2-24     Isidoro Noriega, Ruben Canales, and Guadalupe A. Vasquez; and from
2-25     the Sharyland Independent School District, Lowell Hudsonpillar,
2-26     Linda Cardenas, Joe Williamson, Paul R. Rodriguez, Tony LaMantia,
2-27     Joe Phillips, and Ramon Rosales; and
 3-1           WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans
 3-2     have a stake, and it is most appropriate to pay tribute to those
 3-3     esteemed individuals who are making invaluable contributions to
 3-4     this significant undertaking; now, therefore, be it
 3-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 3-6     Legislature hereby commend the school board members from
 3-7     Edcouch-Elsa, Edinburg, Harlingen, La Feria, La Joya, La Villa,
 3-8     Lyford, Mercedes, Mission, Monte Alto, Rio Hondo, Santa Rosa, and
 3-9     Sharyland independent school districts for their distinguished
3-10     service to their communities and the State of Texas and extend to
3-11     them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3-13     prepared for these school board members as an expression of high
3-14     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
