R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to have
1-2 the participants in the Girl Scouts' Legislative Page Program
1-3 return for a fourth consecutive session, and these dedicated young
1-4 ladies are most deserving of special recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, This outstanding program began in 1995 in an effort
1-6 to provide these future Texas leaders with the opportunity for a
1-7 first-hand experience with the legislative process; and
1-8 WHEREAS, This year, girls from Midland, Fort Worth, Dallas,
1-9 Paris, Houston, Lake Jackson, San Angelo, Austin, and the Panhandle
1-10 are taking part in this unique week-long event; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Endeavoring to understand the democratic system of
1-12 government on which this country was built is a truly worthwhile
1-13 undertaking; the Girl Scout organization and the young ladies who
1-14 participate in the Legislative Page Program are indeed commendable,
1-15 and their significant contributions are much appreciated; now,
1-16 therefore, be it
1-17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18 Legislature hereby honor all those associated with the Girl Scouts'
1-19 Legislative Page Program and extend to them best wishes for a
1-20 memorable event.
