No. 324 77R7502 MW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On July 31, 2001, after almost three decades of 1-2 outstanding service, Assistant Chief of Police Robert Neil "Bob" 1-3 Rack is retiring from the Missouri City Police Department; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Since joining the department on December 20, 1971, 1-5 this outstanding public servant has brought honor to the posts of 1-6 patrolman, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain; his dedication and 1-7 distinguished service ultimately earned him the rank of assistant 1-8 chief of police, a post he has held since 1983; and 1-9 WHEREAS, He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal 1-10 justice from the University of Houston and graduated from the FBI 1-11 National Academy 119th Session; answering his country's call to 1-12 duty, he served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Active in professional and civic organizations, he 1-14 belongs to the Texas chapter of the FBI National Academy 1-15 Associates, the Texas Police Association, and the International 1-16 Association of Chiefs of Police and is on the board of the 100 1-17 Club; and 1-18 WHEREAS, This notable Texan helped guide the Missouri City 1-19 Police Department as it expanded from employing six officers in 1-20 1971 to its present force of over 60 peacekeepers, and his 1-21 leadership and expertise garnered him many well-deserved accolades, 1-22 including numerous letters of commendation and the Missouri City 1-23 Employee Merit Award; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Chief Rack is a devoted husband and father and 2-1 exemplary lawman whose integrity and devotion to duty have earned 2-2 him the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike; 2-3 now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby commend Assistant Chief of Police Robert Neil 2-6 Rack on his retirement from the Missouri City Police Department and 2-7 extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and 2-8 happiness; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Chief Rack as an expression of high regard by the 2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
