No. 330 77R7768 MJS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On February 21, 2001, members of the Leadership La 1-2 Porte-Bayshore program are gathering in Austin to visit with 1-3 legislators and observe the activities of this legislative session; 1-4 and 1-5 WHEREAS, Established by the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of 1-6 Commerce in 1988, the innovative program helps train community 1-7 leaders to meet the serious challenges and opportunities of the 1-8 future; and 1-9 WHEREAS, This comprehensive nine-month program covers a wide 1-10 range of topics that affect citizens throughout the community, such 1-11 as public education, the media, tourism, county and city 1-12 government, the environment, and the economy; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The program's theme, "Developing Tomorrow's Leaders 1-14 Today," is a direct reflection of its primary goal, which is to 1-15 provide people with the requisite skills to help the La 1-16 Porte-Bayshore community continue to flourish in the coming years; 1-17 and 1-18 WHEREAS, Participants of the Leadership La Porte-Bayshore 1-19 program traveling to the State Capitol include Jenny Beard, Jan 1-20 Corbin, Linda Felder, Colleen Hicks, Steve Horton, Lee Linn, Todd 1-21 Schoppe, and Charlcya Wheeler; and 1-22 WHEREAS, These notable Texans have made immeasurable 1-23 contributions to their community; their ongoing and invaluable 1-24 efforts are making a positive impact on countless lives in the Lone 2-1 Star State, and it is most appropriate to pay tribute to them at 2-2 this time; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2001, as Leadership La 2-5 Porte-Bayshore Day and extend to all those associated with this 2-6 outstanding program sincere best wishes for success and happiness 2-7 in their future endeavors; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the members of the Leadership La Porte-Bayshore 2-10 delegation as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-11 Representatives.
