R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, February 28, 2001, marks the first birthday of 1-2 Dorothy Regina Isgur of Fort Worth, Texas; and 1-3 WHEREAS, Miss Dorothy Jeanne is the newest member of a family 1-4 dedicated to public service to the community; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Her father is Benjamin Isgur, a legislative 1-6 relations officer for the City of Austin, and a former legislative 1-7 assistant to Representatives Glen Maxey and Elliott Naishtat, and 1-8 her mother is Shoshana Thoma-Isgur, a promising young attorney with 1-9 the established Fort Worth firm of Law, Snakard & Gambill and a 1-10 former legislative assistant to former Representative Sherri 1-11 Greenberg; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Her paternal grandfather is Stuart Isgur, an 1-13 independent businessman and gentleman farmer who is the president 1-14 of Congregation Ahavath Shalom, and her maternal grandmother is 1-15 Rebecca Reznikoff Isgur, the founder of the Fort Worth Hebrew Day 1-16 School; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Her maternal grandfather is the late Hans Thoma, an 1-18 internationally recognized German modern painter, and her paternal 1-19 grandmother is Blanche Marguiles Thoma, a tireless creative force, 1-20 member of MENSA and community activist in Orange County, 1-21 California; and 1-22 WHEREAS, It is clear from her lineage that the State of Texas 1-23 can expect great things from Miss Dorothy Jeanne in the future; and 1-24 WHEREAS, As one of the most sociable members of the preschool 2-1 class at the Jewish Community Fort Worth Play and Learning Center, 2-2 Miss Dorothy Jeanne is well-known among her peers for her hugging, 2-3 her conversation, and her fascination with computers, pens, cell 2-4 phones, and pagers; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Such gregarious propensity at an early age can only 2-6 mean that Miss Dorothy Jeanne is destined for political greatness, 2-7 including eventual election to this body at some future date; and 2-8 WHEREAS, The birthday of such a notable Texan is worthy of 2-9 special recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-11 Legislature hereby honor Miss Dorothy Regina Isgur by declaring 2-12 February 28, 2001, as Dorothy Jeanne Isgur Day at the Texas 2-13 Capitol; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-15 prepared for Miss Dorothy Jeanne as an expression of high regard by 2-16 the Texas House of Representatives.
