R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of a notable Texan is indeed
1-2 worthy of special recognition, and on February 22, 2001, Gladys
1-3 Beakley Plemmons of Wichita Falls will mark this significant
1-4 milestone in her life; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Gladys Beakley was born in the community of May,
1-6 Texas, on February 22, 1901, and in her youth married John C.
1-7 Plemmons, with whom she shared many happy and rewarding years of
1-8 marriage; and
1-9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Plemmons is a longtime resident of Wichita
1-10 Falls and a valued congregant at Floral Heights United Methodist
1-11 Church; and
1-12 WHEREAS, The kindness and friendship Mrs. Plemmons has shared
1-13 with all who are privileged to know her have enriched the lives of
1-14 many people, and she is truly deserving of special legislative
1-15 recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-17 Legislature hereby honor Gladys Beakley Plemmons on the momentous
1-18 occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best
1-19 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
1-20 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-21 prepared for Mrs. Plemmons as an expression of high regard by the
1-22 Texas House of Representatives.
