                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Debra Flores of Mission is an outstanding educator
 1-2     and community leader, and she is most deserving of special
 1-3     recognition for her exceptional contributions to her South Texas
 1-4     area; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A political science and economics teacher for 18
 1-6     years, Mrs. Flores recently earned a master's degree in counseling
 1-7     and accepted a position as counselor at Mission High School, and
 1-8     with her innate kindness, sincere respect for her students, and
 1-9     willingness to accept challenges, she will undoubtedly be a notable
1-10     asset to the school; and
1-11           WHEREAS, This commendable Texan has been sponsor of the
1-12     senior class and student council, and she is an active volunteer in
1-13     programs to increase voter participation; and
1-14           WHEREAS, The devoted mother of two sons, Kino, Jr., and Eric,
1-15     and a close and thoughtful daughter of her parents, Mr. and
1-16     Mrs. Jorge Garcia, Mrs. Flores is also a great political campaigner
1-17     for her husband, the Honorable Ismael "Kino" Flores, and a
1-18     consistent source of support  and inspiration for him; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores is an outstanding role model who
1-20     exemplifies the virtues of integrity, patience, and enthusiasm, and
1-21     it is truly a privilege to pay tribute to her at this time; now,
1-22     therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby commend Debra Flores for her dedication to her
 2-1     students and family and all her fellow Texans and extend to her
 2-2     heartfelt wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
 2-3     further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Mrs. Flores as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
