                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     an outstanding group of Houstonians who have been named Notable
 1-3     Trailblazers; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Metro Southeast Houston-National
 1-5     Women of Achievement, the awards being presented at the March 17,
 1-6     2001, regional conference luncheon recognize the exceptional
 1-7     service and dedication to their community demonstrated by these
 1-8     highly respected men and women; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Honorees include the Reverend Carrie B. Arnold, Dr.
1-10     Debra Britton, Joyce Chatman, James Campbell, Erma Henderson,
1-11     Alfreda Hill, Argentina James, Linda Lacy, the Reverend James
1-12     Raynard Miller, Cleveland Odem, Vealantha Spivey, Etta Ruth Thomas,
1-13     Patricia Thomas, and Della Williams; and
1-14           WHEREAS, The Notable Trailblazers of Houston have enhanced
1-15     the quality of life for their fellowman in countless ways, and
1-16     their exemplary contributions are a source of inspiration to all
1-17     who know them; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate these distinguished Texans on being
1-20     named Notable Trailblazers by the Metro Southeast Houston-National
1-21     Women of Achievement and extend to them best wishes for the future;
1-22     and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for these esteemed individuals as an expression of high
 2-1     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
