R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Brian Salazar of Houston has achieved the highest
 1-2     rank bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America with his receipt of the
 1-3     prestigious Eagle Scout insignia; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, This admirable young man has worked diligently to
 1-5     complete the rigorous qualifications necessary to attain the rank
 1-6     of Eagle Scout, acquiring the requisite merit badges and completing
 1-7     his service project to benefit the community; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, An excellent student at Saint Thomas High School,
 1-9     Mr. Salazar is a well-rounded individual who belongs to the
1-10     Spanish, Key, and Art/Literary clubs, and he is a four-year member
1-11     of the varsity golf team; a National Honor Society officer and
1-12     National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar Finalist, he received
1-13     a Shell Oil Foundation Scholarship and intends to study business at
1-14     the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill following his high
1-15     school graduation; and
1-16           WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is attained by few
1-17     individuals; through his outstanding effort and commitment, Brian
1-18     Salazar has proven himself most worthy to join the ranks of
1-19     scouting's elite; now, therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby congratulate Brian Salazar on becoming an Eagle
1-22     Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
1-23     with all his future endeavors; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for Mr. Salazar as an expression of high regard by the
 2-2     Texas House of Representatives.
