R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
 1-2     welcome students participating in the Gifted and Talented Program
 1-3     at Wills Point Junior High School on the occasion of their visit to
 1-4     the State Capitol; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Wills Point Junior High is committed to giving a
 1-6     rigorous and diverse educational experience that challenges
 1-7     students who display a high aptitude for learning; students
 1-8     enrolled in the Gifted and Talented Program must keep a high grade
 1-9     point average and demonstrate an outstanding level of
1-10     self-motivation and maturity; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The program features an inventive and progressive
1-12     curriculum that endeavors to present students with a demanding yet
1-13     stimulating academic experience while also giving them
1-14     opportunities to explore real-world applications of the information
1-15     they study in class; and
1-16           WHEREAS, The trip to the State Capitol is an example of the
1-17     type of rich learning experience Wills Point Junior High hopes to
1-18     give its students; their visit allows them to witness firsthand the
1-19     state lawmaking process during the 77th Texas Legislature; and
1-20           WHEREAS, The students enrolled in Wills Point Junior High's
1-21     Gifted and Talented Program will one day be leading our nation, and
1-22     the Texas House of Representatives takes great pride in recognizing
1-23     these notable young citizens at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby welcome the students of the Wills Point Junior
 2-2     High Gifted and Talented Program to the Capitol and encourage them
 2-3     to pursue leadership positions in state and local government in the
 2-4     years to come; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Wills Point Junior High Gifted and Talented students
 2-7     and their teachers as an expression of high regard and best wishes
 2-8     by the Texas House of Representatives.
