R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes pride in
 1-2     welcoming members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., to the
 1-3     chamber in recognition of the group's 2001 Legislative Day at the
 1-4     Capitol; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A force for positive change in communities across
 1-6     the nation for nine decades, Kappa Alpha Psi was founded at Indiana
 1-7     University in 1911, and since that time its members have united
 1-8     with a shared vision to serve those in need and promote the values
 1-9     of honor, patriotism, achievement, and service; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Through such worthy initiatives as the Guide
1-11     Right-National Service Program, members of Kappa Alpha Psi have
1-12     sought to provide inspiration and leadership and serve as role
1-13     models for youth nationwide, helping them avoid negative influences
1-14     and achieve their life's goals; and
1-15           WHEREAS, The men who have served in the fraternity during its
1-16     rich history have created a brighter future for many young Texans,
1-17     and it is truly appropriate that its members be honored for their
1-18     exemplary service at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby welcome the members of Kappa Alpha Psi
1-21     Fraternity, Inc., to the State Capitol for their 2001 Legislative
1-22     Day and extend to them best wishes for an informative and memorable
1-23     visit; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., as an expression of
 2-2     high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
