                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Neal Robert Moore of Cisco as he celebrates his 100th birthday on
 1-3     March 16, 2001; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born on March 16, 1901, in Parker County, Mr. Moore
 1-5     had a productive career working in grocery stores before retiring
 1-6     in 1966; he then restored homes with his grandsons for the United
 1-7     States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Through the years, he has had many hobbies and
 1-9     interests, including raising and selling plants and flowers from
1-10     his own greenhouse; in addition, Mr. Moore  participated in the
1-11     prestigious Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1984 when he donned a
1-12     self-made cowboy clown outfit, and he performed with the Cisco
1-13     Junior College Wrangler Band and Belles; and
1-14           WHEREAS, A native Texan, he has enjoyed the love and support
1-15     of his wife, Thelma, for 64 years; the couple's union is blessed
1-16     with a daughter, three grandchildren, and a number of
1-17     great-grandchildren; and
1-18           WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman is also a longtime and
1-19     valued member of the Church of Christ, where he has served as a
1-20     deacon and as an elder; and
1-21           WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of a notable and highly respected
1-22     Texan is indeed worthy of special recognition, and it is most
1-23     appropriate to pay tribute to Mr. Moore at this time; now,
1-24     therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-2     Legislature hereby congratulate Neal Robert Moore on the joyous
 2-3     occasion of his 100th birthday and extend to him sincere best
 2-4     wishes for continued good fortune and happiness; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 2-7     House of Representatives.
