                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
 1-2     welcome the visiting group from Blanchette Elementary School in
 1-3     Beaumont to the State Capitol on March 14, 2001; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Located in the South Park region of Beaumont,
 1-5     Blanchette has a current enrollment of 345; a school rich in
 1-6     tradition, it has a proud history of bringing together parents,
 1-7     teachers, students, and the community to help its students succeed;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The field trip to Austin is providing Blanchette's
1-10     fifth grade students with the opportunity to see their state
1-11     government in action and serves as an ideal follow-up to their
1-12     recent social studies unit of "Structure and Functions of the
1-13     United States Government"; and
1-14           WHEREAS, It is indeed commendable to endeavor to understand
1-15     the workings of government, and it is most appropriate that we pay
1-16     tribute to the future leaders of our state and nation from
1-17     Blanchette Elementary School as they visit the State Capitol in
1-18     further pursuit of that goal; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby welcome the contingent from Blanchette
1-21     Elementary School and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
1-22     enjoyable and informative visit to the State Capitol.
