                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     welcome the members of Our Mother of Mercy Senior Citizens
 1-3     Organization to the State Capitol; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Organized in 1985 in Beaumont, this esteemed
 1-5     organization strives to unite people in brotherly love, and its
 1-6     official motto, "Love One Another," serves as  a day-to-day
 1-7     reminder of its admirable purpose; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, In its infancy, the organization had 15 people, and
 1-9     throughout the years it has grown and prospered and now has 170
1-10     members; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The group is aided in its charitable endeavors
1-12     through the leadership of its officers, including president Mary L.
1-13     Vallier, vice president Joseph Lawrence, secretary Dora Hebert,
1-14     treasurer Mathilda Jolivette, and chaplain Cleveland Chavis; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Helping to bring people together is a worthy goal,
1-16     and Our Mother of Mercy Senior Citizens Organization is playing an
1-17     active role in making the Beaumont community a brighter place for
1-18     all of its citizens; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby commend Our Mother of Mercy Senior Citizens
1-21     Organization for its many good works and extend a warm welcome to
1-22     its members on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol;
1-23     and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for the visiting delegation from Our Mother of Mercy
 2-2     Senior Citizens Organization as an expression of high regard by the
 2-3     Texas House of Representatives.
