                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Ashley Turner of Houston is an outstanding young
 1-2     woman who has established an impressive record of academic
 1-3     scholarship and civic leadership to date; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, The 14-year-old daughter of State Representative
 1-5     Sylvester Turner and Cheryl Turner, Ashley Paige is a freshman at
 1-6     Lutheran High North, where she consistently earns high grades and
 1-7     maintains her listing on the school's honor roll; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Ms. Turner is an active participant and leader in
 1-9     the Damascus Missionary Baptist Church Drill Team and a member of
1-10     St. John's United Methodist Church; blessed with a kind heart and a
1-11     strong interest in helping others, she is a ready volunteer for
1-12     church and community causes and inspires those around her to become
1-13     involved with her positive outlook and ready smile and laugh; and
1-14           WHEREAS, This well-rounded young lady loves reading, drama,
1-15     and Tweety Bird, and, with her beauty and intelligence, she is
1-16     certain to achieve her goal of becoming an obstetrician if the
1-17     spotlight doesn't steal her away first; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Despite her youth, Ms. Turner already demonstrates
1-19     the initiative and maturity of a leader and is well on her way to a
1-20     bright and promising future; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-22     Legislature hereby honor Ashley Turner for her academic
1-23     achievements and civic contributions and extend to her best wishes
1-24     for continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be
 2-1     it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Ms. Turner as an expression of high regard by the
 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
