R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of George Clinton "Clint" 1-2 Chavanne of Dallas on January 28, 2001, at the age of 25, has 1-3 brought a profound loss to the family and many friends of this 1-4 esteemed young man, and it is most appropriate that we honor his 1-5 memory at this time; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born on July 28, 1975, in 1-7 Dallas; he graduated from J. J. Pierce High School and furthered 1-8 his education at Southwestern University in Georgetown; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Chavanne enjoyed a variety of sports as a 1-10 participant and spectator and also took pleasure in playing chess 1-11 and bridge; in his community, he was an active congregant of Lovers 1-12 Lane United Methodist Church; and 1-13 WHEREAS, It is so very painful to say goodbye to one so 1-14 young, and it is fitting to remember his unique spirit, which will 1-15 surely live on in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives he 1-16 touched; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-18 Legislature hereby honor the memory of George Clinton "Clint" 1-19 Chavanne and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: 1-20 to his mother, Lori Hyde Stafford; to his grandparents, George and 1-21 Betty Hyde; to his uncle, James David Hyde; and to the many friends 1-22 and other relatives of this exceptional young man; and, be it 1-23 further 1-24 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-1 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-2 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-3 George Clinton "Clint" Chavanne.
