R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On March 14, 2001, many fine residents from 1-2 Henderson County are gathering in Austin to celebrate Cedar Creek 1-3 Lake Area Day at the State Capitol; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The lake comprises approximately 38,000 surface 1-5 acres and 310 miles of shoreline; in addition, more than 70,000 1-6 residents currently live within a five mile radius of this 1-7 picturesque body of water; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Henderson County has reaped the benefits of having 1-9 the state's largest residential lake flow through its borders; 1-10 residents and visitors partake in a wide range of outdoor and water 1-11 activities, and the boating, fishing, swimming, and camping around 1-12 Cedar Creek Lake are all excellent; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The lake also has helped spur growth and bring 1-14 prosperity to the area; many homeowners and retirees have chosen to 1-15 settle in communities that are located near Cedar Creek Lake, and a 1-16 growing number of small business enterprises are thriving in its 1-17 vicinity; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Cedar Creek Lake is one of our state's true 1-19 treasures, and it is indeed most appropriate to pay tribute to it 1-20 at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby recognize March 14, 2001, as Cedar Creek Lake 1-23 Area Day at the State Capitol and extend to the delegation here 1-24 today sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable visit.
