visiting students from Bynum School to the State Capitol on March 28, 2001; and
R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
1-2 welcome the visiting students from Bynum School to the State
1-3 Capitol on March 28, 2001; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Led by Superintendent Polly Boyd, this outstanding
1-5 school is located on Highway 171 eight miles east of Hillsboro; for
1-6 the past four years, Bynum has earned an "exemplary" rating from
1-7 the Texas Education Agency, making it one of only 14 school
1-8 districts to be so honored in the Lone Star State during that time;
1-9 and
1-10 WHEREAS, At the present time, approximately half of Bynum's
1-11 seniors are enrolled at Hill College in Hillsboro; moreover, all of
1-12 its juniors and seniors tested at the exit level have passed all
1-13 sections of the TAAS test, while a quarter of the junior class have
1-14 earned TASP exempt status based on their TAAS scores; and
1-15 WHEREAS, In attendance today are the junior and senior
1-16 government classes taught by Robert Stevens at Bynum School; it is
1-17 indeed appropriate to honor these fine young people as they visit
1-18 the State Capitol and witness firsthand their state government in
1-19 action; now, therefore, be it
1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21 Legislature hereby welcome the students from Bynum School to the
1-22 State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
1-23 enjoyable and informative visit.
