R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Participants in the Mt. Pleasant Leadership Group 1-2 are visiting the State Capitol on March 19 and 20, and it is indeed 1-3 a privilege to welcome these civic-minded Texans to Austin; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Established in 1988 by the Mt. Pleasant/Titus County 1-5 Chamber of Commerce, the leadership group provides participants a 1-6 host of opportunities to discuss and learn more about the workings 1-7 of local and state government; this year, topics will include such 1-8 issues as health care, utilities, education, economic development, 1-9 and tax appraisal districts; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Leadership class participants include Ricardo Baeza, 1-11 La Verne Thompson, Marsha Lilly, Mo Raissi, Darrell Grubbs, Don 1-12 Lowry, Chris Snapp, Ruben Lopez, Barbara Romine, Ernie McAnally, 1-13 Allen Currey, Norm Wilson, Brad Thomas, Charlotte Hart, Debbie 1-14 Dennis, and Michael Crabtree; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The steering committee for the group includes 1-16 Chairman Diane Kennedy, Gene Lott, Terri Lee, Gordan Hall, Robin 1-17 Sharp, and Ray Jenkins; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The Mt. Pleasant/Titus Chamber of Commerce board of 1-19 directors includes Chairman Lonnie Smith, Terri Lee, Bill Priefert, 1-20 Don Alexander, Joyce Buck, Nita May, Diane Kennedy, Chris Snapp, 1-21 Kim Crabbe, Brett Boatner, Gail Earman, Kenny Hawkins, Steve 1-22 Jacobson, and Joe Sandlin, Jr.; ex officio members Dr. Ken English 1-23 and Charles Florio; and staff member Kathy Clinton; and 1-24 WHEREAS, These noteworthy individuals have demonstrated a 2-1 deep commitment to improving their community, and their significant 2-2 efforts on behalf of the residents of Mt. Pleasant and Titus County 2-3 are to be applauded; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby commend the members of the Mt.
