R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Richardson Republican Women's Club has long been
 1-2     an integral part of its North Texas community, and it is most
 1-3     appropriate to honor this distinguished group of citizens as they
 1-4     have achieved yet another noteworthy accomplishment; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The members of the organization contributed the most
 1-6     total hours of volunteer service per member of any Texas Republican
 1-7     women's club during 2000, which has earned them the A-Team Governor
 1-8     Perry Award; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The Richardson Republican Women's Club was founded
1-10     in 1958, and its members have worked through the years for better
1-11     government and for the betterment of their community, giving
1-12     generously of their time and diverse talents to a host of worthy
1-13     initiatives; these dedicated individuals regularly participate in
1-14     outreach and literacy programs and have provided financial support
1-15     to the public libraries of Texas for more than four decades; and
1-16           WHEREAS, The club has received the Dallas County Council of
1-17     Republican Women Executive Committee's Certificate of Appreciation,
1-18     the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Certificate of Merit,
1-19     the Participation, Activity, and Teamwork (PAT) Award, the John
1-20     Goodwin Tower Award of Excellence, and many others; several of the
1-21     members have also been given such special recognition as the
1-22     Volunteer of the Year for Texas and commendations from the Dallas
1-23     County Republican Party; and
1-24           WHEREAS, Members of the Richardson Republican Women's Club
 2-1     can take great pride in their most recent accomplishment as well as
 2-2     in their enduring contributions to the Lone Star State over the
 2-3     last 40 years, and it is a privilege to honor them at this time;
 2-4     now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby commend the efforts of the Richardson Republican
 2-7     Women's Club and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future;
 2-8     and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for the members of this organization as an expression of
2-11     high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
