                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Mel Reingold of Houston on March 4,
 1-2     2001, at the age of 57, has brought a profound sense of loss to the
 1-3     family and many friends of this esteemed gentleman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Mr. Reingold moved
 1-5     to Houston in 1978 and started working as a photographer at
 1-6     Methodist Hospital; his affinity for photography would quickly turn
 1-7     into his life's ambition when he founded Reingold Photographers;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Numerous organizations, businesses, and families in
1-10     the Houston metropolitan area relied on his company to capture
1-11     their special occasions and events; in addition, Mr. Reingold
1-12     handled many assignments for the Jewish Herald-Voice, including
1-13     shooting cover art and contributing photos on a routine basis for
1-14     the weekly newspaper; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Widely admired for his artistry in composition and
1-16     technical creativity, this talented gentleman possessed other
1-17     traits that helped him excel in his profession; he had a
1-18     photographic memory and a keen eye for detail and was an avid
1-19     reader; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father, Mr. Reingold was a man
1-21     of immense ability and character, and although he will be greatly
1-22     missed, his bright spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of
1-23     the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mel Reingold and
 2-2     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
 2-3     Ruth; to his daughters, Gillian and Sarabeth; to his sisters,
 2-4     Phyllis Gal, Marion Reingold, and Estelle Reingold; and to his many
 2-5     friends and other relatives; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-7     prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 2-8     Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-9     Mr. Reingold.
