                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Elizabeth Linda Routh of Corpus Christi is an
 1-2     outstanding leader and businesswoman, and she is indeed deserving
 1-3     of special recognition for her exceptional contributions to Texas;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mrs. Routh is a member of the Texas State Technical
 1-6     College Board of Regents and serves as chair of the board's human
 1-7     relations committee; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This innovative Texan founded CompuBasix, Inc., and
 1-9     Davlin Technologies, Inc., companies that offer computer and
1-10     Internet related services to the Greater Corpus Christi area; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Drawing on her leadership abilities, she served on
1-12     the Corpus Christi Literacy Council board and the Small Business
1-13     Development Center Advisory Committee and serves on the Corpus
1-14     Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau board; and
1-15           WHEREAS, She also served on the Corpus Christi Hispanic
1-16     Chamber of Commerce board and served for three years as secretary
1-17     of the executive board of the Texas Association of Mexican American
1-18     Chambers of Commerce; and
1-19           WHEREAS, A recipient of the Brillante Award in 1996 as one of
1-20     The Most Influential Hispanics in Texas as chosen by Texas Hispanic
1-21     Magazine, Elizabeth Linda Routh has demonstrated a commitment to
1-22     her community and the State of Texas that is an inspiration to all
1-23     who know her, and her achievements and contributions are truly
1-24     exemplary; now, therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-2     Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Linda Routh for her dedication
 2-3     to her fellow Texans and her appointment as chair of the Human
 2-4     Relations Committee of the Texas State Technical College Board of
 2-5     Regents and extend to her warmest wishes for continued success in
 2-6     all her future endeavors; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for Mrs. Routh as an expression of high regard by the
 2-9     Texas House of Representatives.
