R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 John Wiesner of Conroe for his exemplary service to the Montgomery 1-3 County community; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A graduate of Southern Methodist University, 1-5 Mr. Wiesner is a well-known businessman who has achieved great 1-6 success throughout his career in automobile sales while giving back 1-7 to the community as a dedicated civic leader; and 1-8 WHEREAS, After owning car dealerships in Hempstead and 1-9 Baytown, Mr. Wiesner purchased a dealership in Conroe in 1972 and, 1-10 under his astute guidance, John Wiesner, Inc., has grown to employ 1-11 more than 500 people in several Lone Star cities; the company's 1-12 remarkable achievements have earned it recognition as one of the 1-13 top 50 family-owned businesses in Houston by the Houston Business 1-14 Journal; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. Wiesner has generously contributed his time and 1-16 resources to a number of civic and community-oriented concerns, 1-17 serving on the boards of the Montgomery County Appraisal District, 1-18 Montgomery County Youth Services, and the Cypress Woodlands Junior 1-19 Forum and as advisory director of the Montgomery County Fair 1-20 Association; and 1-21 WHEREAS, In addition, his myriad accomplishments include 1-22 chairing the committee that created the North Harris Montgomery 1-23 Community College District in 1991 and continuing to serve on the 1-24 foundation board, and he has headed both the South Montgomery 2-1 County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Conroe Chamber 2-2 of Commerce; and 2-3 WHEREAS, Mr. Wiesner is a role model for many whose 2-4 impressive record of service speaks volumes about his character and 2-5 generosity; his contributions have helped to unify residents in 2-6 Montgomery County, and his ongoing and valuable efforts have made a 2-7 positive impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-9 Legislature hereby congratulate John Wiesner for his outstanding 2-10 achievements and many good works and deeds in the community and 2-11 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and 2-12 happiness; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-14 prepared for Mr. Wiesner as an expression of high regard by the 2-15 Texas House of Representatives.
