R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride 1-2 in honoring residents of this great state who have worked toward 1-3 the betterment of their communities, and it is indeed a privilege 1-4 to recognize Froncell Reece of Conroe for his many contributions to 1-5 his community and the Lone Star State; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A graduate of Prairie View A&M University where he 1-7 lettered in track and football, Mr. Reece was a dedicated educator 1-8 and coach for more than four decades; during the course of his 1-9 notable career, he led baseball, football, and track teams to 1-10 numerous district and state championships, and he taught vocational 1-11 agriculture until his retirement in 1991; and 1-12 WHEREAS, He is an exceptional civic leader, whose experience 1-13 and vision have benefited a host of worthwhile groups; he has been 1-14 a member of the boards of Habitat for Humanity, the Montgomery 1-15 County NAACP, the Metropolitan Day Care Center, and Conroe Friendly 1-16 City Kiwanis, where he has served as president and treasurer; he 1-17 has also given generously of his time and talents to the Boy Scouts 1-18 of America and participated in a summer youth program in Conroe for 1-19 30 years; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Recognized by many organizations for his 1-21 contributions and achievements, Mr. Reece is the recipient of a 1-22 Prairie View Distinguished Alumni Signal Service Award, and he was 1-23 inducted into the Prairie View University Sports Hall of Fame in 1-24 1995; and 2-1 WHEREAS, A devoted member of the Metropolitan United 2-2 Methodist Church, Mr. Reece is a man of faith and integrity whose 2-3 immeasurable contributions to his community are truly admirable, 2-4 and it is most fitting to take this opportunity to honor him; now, 2-5 therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby commend Froncell Reese for his continued service 2-8 to the state and his fellowman and extend to him sincere best 2-9 wishes in all of his future endeavors; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. Reece as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-12 House of Representatives.
