R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, For more than a decade, members of the Cut-N-Shoot 1-2 Harley Owner's Group have been a notable presence in their East 1-3 Texas community, and these spirited individualists are most 1-4 deserving of special recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Based in the town of Cut and Shoot in Montgomery 1-6 County, the Harley Owner's Group (HOG) includes nearly 1,000 1-7 members from across Southeast Texas; united by a common love of 1-8 their Harleys, these men and women formed their organization not 1-9 only to share the fun of motorcycle riding, but also to encourage 1-10 safety and to support numerous worthwhile civic initiatives; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Sponsors of the innovative "Ride to Read" program 1-12 that encourages students to meet their reading goals by rewarding 1-13 them with short motorcycle rides, members of the Cut-N-Shoot Harley 1-14 Owner's Group have established themselves as committed advocates 1-15 for area children; the group annually holds a Back to School Supply 1-16 Run, raising funds to purchase school supplies for nearby Austin 1-17 Elementary School, and is an active supporter of Montgomery County 1-18 Child Protective Services; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Among the many other organizations that benefit from 1-20 the Cut-N-Shoot HOG's hard work are the Montgomery County Food 1-21 Bank and the county's battered women's shelter; furthermore, these 1-22 ardent bikers have taken on an additional endeavor by participating 1-23 in the Adopt-a-Highway program and committing to maintaining a 1-24 two-mile stretch of Highway 105 that runs through the city; and 2-1 WHEREAS, The members of the Cut-N-Shoot Harley Owner's Group 2-2 are a tribute to the organization's motto, "The most active chapter 2-3 in all of HOGdom, and proud of it," and they are most deserving of 2-4 special recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby commend the members of the Cut-N-Shoot Harley 2-7 Owner's Group for their significant civic contributions and extend 2-8 to them sincere best wishes for continued success in all of their 2-9 future endeavors.
