R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The retirement of Cyril Durrenberger of Austin from 1-2 the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) brings 1-3 to a close an impressive career in state government that has 1-4 greatly benefited the people of Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A senior engineer in the Air Modeling and Data 1-6 Analysis Section of the Technical Analysis Division of TNRCC, 1-7 Mr. Durrenberger has 28 years of experience in air pollution 1-8 control and is known nationally for his expertise in the areas of 1-9 photochemical modeling and emissions inventory activities; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from 1-11 Texas A&M University, and master's degrees in mathematics and 1-12 environmental health engineering from The University of Texas, and 1-13 is a registered professional engineer; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Since 1990, this highly regarded specialist has 1-15 focused on air quality modeling as it pertains to urban ozone or 1-16 smog, and he has worked in conjunction with the Environmental 1-17 Protection Agency and experts in the field to develop ozone 1-18 modeling guidance; his outstanding efforts have been instrumental 1-19 in reducing ozone levels in areas across the state; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Cyril Durrenberger 1-21 has made innumerable contributions to the betterment of air 1-22 quality; his pursuit of the best science to solve air quality 1-23 problems has been truly impressive, and it is a privilege to join 1-24 his family, friends, and colleagues in recognizing his many 2-1 accomplishments as he begins his well-deserved retirement; now, 2-2 therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby commend Cyril Durrenberger for his exemplary 2-5 career with the State of Texas and extend to him sincere best 2-6 wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Mr. Durrenberger as an expression of high regard by 2-9 the Texas House of Representatives.
