R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On November 18, 2000, Marlyn and Marjorie Rooker
 1-2     celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and this golden
 1-3     milestone is truly worthy of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, United in matrimony on November 18, 1950, Mr. Rooker
 1-5     and the former Marjorie Ann Bus have shared a loving union that has
 1-6     been blessed with four children,  nine grandchildren, and one
 1-7     great-grandchild; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Rooker worked for Crum & Forster Insurance Co.
 1-9     as an auditor until retiring in 1989; Mrs. Rooker had been a
1-10     secretary with Arco Oil and Gas Company for 25 years when she also
1-11     retired in 1989, and for the past 10 years she has worked part-time
1-12     with Midland Community Federal Credit Union; and
1-13           WHEREAS, For half a century this loving couple have enjoyed
1-14     an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family
1-15     memories, and it is indeed a privilege to honor them at this time;
1-16     now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby honor Marlyn and Marjorie Rooker on the occasion
1-19     of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
1-20     wishes for the future; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rooker as an expression of high regard by
1-23     the Texas House of Representatives.
