R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On December 24, 2000, Cecil J. and Martha V. Medlin
 1-2     of Midland celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and this
 1-3     memorable milestone truly warrants special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, United in matrimony on December 24, 1940, Mr. Medlin
 1-5     and the former Martha Virginia Belew have shared a loving union
 1-6     that has been blessed with one daughter, and over the years they
 1-7     have proudly watched their extended family grow to include two
 1-8     grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Before settling in Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Medlin
1-10     lived in Grand Bahama Island and various states; Mr. Medlin was a
1-11     valued employee of Chevron until his retirement and Mrs. Medlin is
1-12     a homemaker; and
1-13           WHEREAS, For 60 years, this loving couple have enjoyed an
1-14     enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family
1-15     memories, and it is indeed a privilege to honor them at this time;
1-16     now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby congratulate Cecil J. and Martha V. Medlin on
1-19     the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
1-20     sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Medlin as an expression of high regard by
1-23     the Texas House of Representatives.
