R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for
 1-2     celebration, and Joe and Janet Overton of Midland will mark this
 1-3     significant milestone in 2001 with a trip given to them by their
 1-4     children; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Overton and the former Mary Janet Johnson were
 1-6     married on January 25, 1951, in Lubbock; they enjoy a fulfilling
 1-7     relationship that is blessed with two daughters, Mary Overton Nolan
 1-8     and Blanche Overton, and through the years, they have joyfully
 1-9     welcomed two beloved grandchildren into their close-knit family;
1-10     and
1-11           WHEREAS, Mr. Overton was employed as a chemical engineer
1-12     before he and his business partner started their own company,
1-13     Ormond & Overton Acidizing, and before making their home in
1-14     Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Overton lived in a number of Texas cities as
1-15     well as Tampa, Florida, and Belleville, Illinois; and
1-16           WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Overton have shared
1-17     a union filled with many happy times and cherished family memories,
1-18     and it is most appropriate that they be honored at this time; now,
1-19     therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Janet Overton on their 50th
1-22     wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes on this
1-23     joyous occasion; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Overton as an expression of high regard
 2-2     by the Texas House of Representatives.
