R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On February 7, 2001, J. D. and Donna Philpott of
 1-2     Midland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and this
 1-3     significant event is indeed worthy of special legislative
 1-4     recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The couple were joined in matrimony on February 7,
 1-6     1951, in Pecos, Texas; their union has been blessed with two
 1-7     daughters, Pam Sandberg and Cindy Higginbotham, as well as three
 1-8     grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and their marriage
 1-9     continues to flourish with each passing year; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Before moving to Midland, they lived in 11 different
1-11     countries and a number of cities across the United States; now
1-12     retired, Mr. Philpott enjoyed a long and distinguished career with
1-13     a leading engineering construction firm; and
1-14           WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Philpott
1-15     have enjoyed a committed relationship filled with joy and cherished
1-16     family memories, and it is most appropriate to honor this devoted
1-17     couple at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate J. D. and Donna Philpott on their
1-20     50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
1-21     continued good fortune and happiness; and, be it further
1-22        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared
1-23     for Mr. and Mrs. Philpott as an expression of high regard by the
1-24     Texas House of Representatives.
