R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, November 29, 2000, was the 50th wedding anniversary
 1-2     of Shelby and Evelyn O'Neal of Midland, and this occasion is indeed
 1-3     deserving of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal have enjoyed five decades of
 1-5     wonderful memories together, and through the years they have seen
 1-6     their family grow to include three children, Donna, Vicky, and
 1-7     Terry, as well as six beloved grandchildren; to commemorate their
 1-8     milestone anniversary, the couple were honored with a celebration
 1-9     that was hosted by their children on November 23, 2000; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Married in Lovington, New Mexico, in 1950, the
1-11     couple moved to Midland in 1965; a veteran of World War II,
1-12     Mr. O'Neal was an employee of Exxon for 34 years until his
1-13     retirement in 1982; the former Evelyn Wood has been a dedicated
1-14     homemaker throughout the couple's marriage and is a member of the
1-15     High Noon Ladies' bowling league; and
1-16           WHEREAS, This joyous union has yielded a relationship built
1-17     on trust, understanding, and mutual respect, and it is truly a
1-18     privilege to honor Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal at this time; now,
1-19     therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby congratulate Shelby and Evelyn O'Neal on their
1-22     golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
1-23     for the future; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for the O'Neals as an expression of high regard by the
 2-2     Texas House of Representatives.
